Facts About Granby
The town of Granby in which the library is located, was part of Simsbury before was established in 1786. One of its most prominent places is the Granby Center, which is in the eastern part of the town and is one of the 3 villages that can be found in the town, and overtime became the principal civic center of Granby.
Back in the day, people used to place houses in the village, locating the agricultural lands outside the town itself. Unfortunately due to a extensive fire that occurred in 1876, the majority of the business and civic buildings disappeared.
Nowadays the Granby public library is an important cultural and educational source for the inhabitants of the town.
