Facts About The Winchester Public Library
Researching a little in history you will see that the South Woburn Library Association was the predecessor of the Winchester Public Library, and was after the foundation of the Town of Winchester in that the name of the association was changed to the Winchester Library Association.
The origin of the Winchester Public Library goes to 1858, and the building which the library is located nowadays was constructed in 1931. The building was designed by the recognized architect Robert Coit, with the participation of the firm of Kilham, Hopkins & Greeley.
The building shows materials like; Rough-faced Massachusetts granite in its exterior, and dark mortar joints that are combine with trim of cut limestone.
